Who we are

Rabbinical Seminary of America / Yeshiva Chofetz Chaim (“RSA,” “we,” “us”) operates this public institutional website at https://rsaoffice.org and this consent page at https://consent.rsaoffice.org.

Mailing address: 76-01 147th Street, Flushing, NY 11367.

Questions: [email protected] or (718) 268-4700.

The public institutional website

The public website provides institutional information and links to RSA's separate consent application and private office login. It does not collect SMS consent, accept payments, or require an account.

When you visit, our hosting and security providers process technical request information, such as your IP address, requested page, browser information, and time of access, to deliver and protect the website. If you contact the office by email or telephone, we use the information you provide to respond to your inquiry.

What information this page collects

For web consent we collect your name, mobile number, optional email and student ID, affirmative checkbox selections, exact disclosure and policy versions, timestamp, source page, IP address and browser user agent. The current web form does not send or require a one-time SMS verification code and does not ask for a typed electronic signature. Consent is given by actively selecting the consent and subscriber-certification checkboxes.

For in-person verbal consent we retain the student's name and number, optional student ID, exact script and version, affirmative YES confirmation, consent time, recording time, staff account and relevant notes. Authorized staff review enrollment and the consent claim before enabling messages. Review decisions and later changes are recorded in history.

We preserve consent evidence collected under earlier versions of our process. Those historical records do not describe the steps required by the current web or in-person verbal consent process.

We do not ask for a Social Security number, birth date, financial account or payment card.

Why we collect it

To review that an enrolled student authorized messages to their own mobile number, without requiring an SMS verification code.

To keep a record that we may rely on, and that you may inspect, showing when and how permission was given and what you were told at the time.

To send the informational messages you authorized, and to honour a later request to stop.

To match your authorization to your student record where we can, so the right person receives messages about the right program.

How consent records are used

A consent record is used to decide whether a number may be included in a list of recipients. Only records that are currently active, approved for sending and not suppressed may be included. A fresh consent check is required before each routine message; an exported list is not continuing permission.

Consent records are retained as evidence. When you withdraw consent we do not delete the record; we mark it withdrawn and keep the history, because the evidence that you once consented and later withdrew is exactly what protects you.

Consent collected here is used only for the informational messages described in the Text Messaging Terms. It is not used for fundraising, advertising or other promotional texting; that would require a separate opt-in.

Who else sees it

SMS opt-in and consent information is not sold, rented, or transferred to unrelated third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Necessary service providers may process it only to operate RSA's communications on RSA's behalf.

We use service providers, including a third-party messaging provider, to deliver and administer our messages. Information is provided to those service providers only as needed to deliver and administer RSA messages — the mobile number and the message text — and they act on our behalf.

RSA does not sell, rent or share mobile information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes, and does not permit our messaging providers to use it for their own marketing.

We may disclose information if we are required to by law, or to protect the safety of a person.

Retention and security

Consent evidence is retained for as long as the messaging program operates and for a period afterwards sufficient to answer a question about it. Opt-out records are retained indefinitely so that a number that asked to stop cannot be re-added by accident.

IP addresses collected with a consent are retained on a limited schedule and are removed from the record when that period ends; the rest of the consent evidence is unaffected.

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to the administrative side is limited to authorized staff, is individually accounted for, and every export of personal information is recorded.

Neither the current web consent form nor in-person verbal consent requires an SMS verification code or a typed signature.

Your choices

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, or contact the RSA office.

You may revoke consent and stop messages at any time by replying STOP to any message from us. You may also revoke consent, or ask a question about this policy, by writing to [email protected] or calling (718) 268-4700.

Consent is voluntary. It is not a condition of enrollment, of receiving services, or of making any purchase.

You may ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct your name, program or year. Correcting those details does not alter the historical record of a consent you gave.

Children

This page is intended for enrolled students. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them here.

Changes

If we make a material change to this policy we will publish the new version on this page with a new version label and date. A consent already given keeps the policy version that was in force when it was given; material changes to the messaging program itself are handled as described in the Text Messaging Terms.
